What is Canvas?
Canvas is UWEC's learning management system. Canvas provides a student-friendly, accessible learning experience and instructors benefit from ease of use and innovative tools for grading and providing student feedback.
You can access Canvas by navigating to canvas.uwec.edu or by clicking on the Canvas symbol at the top of the UWEC homepage.

Common Questions/Issues
How do I remove old classes from my Canvas dashboard?
Use the following steps to remove classes from your dashboard:
- Click on Courses on the left-hand side of Canvas.
- Select All Courses from the menu that appears.
- Click on the star next to any courses that you would not like to appear in your dashboard.
How do I change my display name in Canvas?
To change your display name, you will need to fill out the Preferred Name Change Form. Please note that completing this form will also change the way your name appears in the online University directory and the following pages in CampS: advisor center, student center, class roster, grade roster, and degree audit.
When do I contact Canvas Support and when should I submit a Canvas ticket with LTS?
You should contact Canvas Support first when you run into technical issues with the Canvas website in any way. You should submit a Canvas ticket with LTS if you have any issues with accessing your courses in Canvas.
