What are Computer Peripherals?
Computer peripherals are external devices that enhance your computer's performance. Peripherals can be input or output devices.
Input peripherals are used to put information into a computer. They include keyboards, mice, touchpads, and styluses.
Output peripherals are used to get information out of a computer. They include monitors, speakers, headsets, and headphones.
Required Information in Ticket
You will need the following information to submit a Computer Peripherals Issues ticket:
- Whether your computer is a personal or university-owned computer
- If the computer is university-owned, the asset tag of the computer (7-digit number on a Property of UWEC sticker on the computer tower or the bottom of the laptop)
- If the computer is Windows or Mac
- What peripheral you are having issues with
- Whether the peripheral is personal or university-owned
- NOTE: University-owned peripherals usually do not have an asset tag
- A short description of the issue you are having
