Office Computer Requests

Service Description

Use this service for issues or questions related to office computing moves, removal of technology or reinstalling of a computer's operating system.  For information about purchasing technology, please refer to the Purchasing: Technology article in the UWEC knowledge base.

UW-Eau Claire faculty and staff.

Information

Technology Move Requests

Please include the following information:

  • Current location (building and room) of the technology to be moved.
  • Location (building and room) the technology is to moved to.
  • Asset tag numbers of technology to be moved.  Asset tags are white labels affixed to computers, monitors and docking stations.  They have a bar code and the words "Property of UW-Eau Claire."
  • Provide a window of time in which this move can be completed.
  • Placing sticky notes indicating placement of monitors, computer, etc at the new location can be helpful.

Removal of Technology

Please include the following information:

  • Location (building and room) of the technology to be removed.
  • Reason for removal.
  • Asset tag numbers of technology to be removed.  Asset tags are white labels affixed to computers, monitors and docking stations.  They have a bar code and the words "Property of UW-Eau Claire."
  • Provide a window of time in which technology should be removed.

Computer Reimage

LTS can reinstall the operating system for your UWEC-managed computer.  This process is often referred to as "reimaging."  This may be done if a computer is being reassigned to another employee or if the computer has been having issues.  If the computer is a laptop, it can be dropped off at the LTS Help Desk.

Please include the following information:

  • If the computer is a desktop, please indicate the location (building and room) of the computer.
  • Reason for the reimage.
  • Asset tag of the computer.  Asset tags are white labels affixed to computers, monitors and docking stations.  They have a bar code and the words "Property of UW-Eau Claire."
