The wireless network at UWEC has extensive coverage in all buildings including many outdoor spaces on campus as well as our off campus locations in the area, including such places as Hobbs Ice, Bollinger Field and Carson Park.

Connect to the Wireless Network 

Campus Guests can use the UWECguest network.  Select "UWECguest" on your device, enter in your email address, and click Accept the Terms of Service. 

EDUROAM is a network available at many other universities and research institutions around the world by connecting with your UWEC credentials. To connect, you must use your full email address: myusername@uwec.edu.

UWECdevices is a network available for devices that will not support the security level of the UWEC WiFi network. Please go to mydevices.uwec.edu to register a MAC address for your devices.

UWECreshalls is a network available for student devices in the Residence Halls that will not support the security level of the UWEC WiFi network (TVs, gaming systems, etc). Please go to mydevices.uwec.edu to register a MAC address for these devices.

iOS

  1. Tap Settings.
  2. Tap Wi-Fi.
  3. Select UWEC or EDUROAM from the list to connect.
  4. Enter in your UWEC username (with EDUROAM you MUST use the full name: username@uwec.edu)
  5. Enter in your UWEC password
  6. A request may appear to trust our Certificate (network-auth.uwec.edu or eduroam.uwec.edu), select Trust
  7. If it is an option, select connect automatically or auto-join.
  8. You should now be connected to the UWEC/EDUROAM network. No further registration is required.

Android

  1. Tap Settings.
  2. Tap Wi-Fi.
  3. Select UWEC or EDUROAM from the list to connect.
  4. Enter in your UWEC username (with EDUROAM you MUST use the full name: username@uwec.edu)
  5. Enter in your UWEC password
  6. Select CA Certificate: USE system certificates  (you may also choose to not validate the certificate
    1. Domain: uwec.edu
  7. Other Settings are asked for and if not automatically selected you can adjust them to this:
    1. EAP Method: PEAP
    2. Phase 2 authentication: MSCHAPV2
    3. CA Certificate: (unspecified) or none
    4. Anonymous Identity: leave blank
  8. If it is an option, select connect automatically.
  9. A request may appear to trust our Certificate (network-auth.uwec.edu or eduroam.uwec.edu), select Trust or Yes
  10. You should now be connected to the UWEC/EDUROAM network. No further registration is required.

macOS

  1. Click the wireless icon in upper-right corner of your screen, to the left of the volume icon.
  2. Select UWEC or EDUROAM from the list to connect.
  3. Enter in your UWEC username (with EDUROAM you MUST use the full name: username@uwec.edu)
  4. Enter in your UWEC password
  5. Check the “Remember this network” box if unchecked
  6. A request may appear to trust our Certificate (network-auth.uwec.edu or eduroam.uwec.edu), select Trust or Yes
  7. You should now be connected to the UWEC/EDUROAM network. No further registration is required.

Windows

  1. Click the wireless icon in the bottom-right corner of the screen.
  2. If it is an option, select connect automatically
  3. Enter in your UWEC username (with EDUROAM you MUST use the full name: username@uwec.edu)
  4. Enter in your UWEC password
  5. A request may appear to trust our Certificate (network-auth.uwec.edu or eduroam.uwec.edu), select Trust or Connect
  6. You should now be connected to the UWEC/EDUROAM network. No further registration is required.
